TORONTO -- Toronto Mayor John Tory, Councillor James Pasternak, MPP Laura Albanese, and others from Toronto City Council were on hand for the official opening of the York Recreation Centre.
"This is the largest recreation centre that the City of Toronto has opened in many years and I'm so pleased to be apart of it," said Mayor Tory.
The new facility is fully accessible and features a 25-metre pool, indoor track, fitness studio, kitchen and more.
"This versatile facility allows us to meet all of the needs of the community from competitive swim meets to walking clubs for seniors and everything in between," said Councillor Frank Di Giorgio.
The opening ceremony held on April., 23 2017, included fun activities and food for the family.
